  • 7 Weeks down...HALF TERM AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I haven't written much for a while. No excuse really except that one we all have.... I was just busy, forgot etc etc!

Anyway enough of the pathetic excuses (although I have been busy!) I can't believe it's half term at long last. Although its gone fast I feel truly drained, like the energy has been sucked out of me. SO much for believing that I am the HUMAN Duracell bunny!

I have had some of the best experiences and also some incredibly bad ones! I love teaching because its not just about what you do in the classroom, its so much more than that! Us teachers can make a real difference as cheesy as it sounds we can have such an amazing and lasting impact on young lives! I have never been through so many emotions, from feeling so happy and buzzing from a great lesson, to absolute despair from hearing of a child's awful home circumstances. I wouldn't change it for the world though, I believe that I have a special role and am proud to be able to have a career in teaching. ( Thats if I make it to the end of the year!)

Will write again soon..... VERY SOON this time. Its Friday and time for shed loads of vino and pamper time!

    STILL SMILING THOUGH!

  • Week 2! (how time flys...NOT!)

Well it is now nearly the end of my second week and things are ok. Lessons are going really well and am being a bit slack with my planning! Have had some bizarre characters to deal with however I find that singing seems to work every time! I now have no concerns about singing in front of 30 kids and am quite enjoying making a fool of myself! lol!

I love school but I am seriously hating the extreme exhaustion I seem to come home with every day! I feel like I have aged 20 years going to bed at 8:30 or 9:00 most nights. I really hope I will get used to this routine and actually be able to have a life outside of the classroom!!!!!!!

Got so much going on its mad! Being a music teacher is not as easy as most may think. I have rehearsals for various school band type things nearly every lunchtime and after school also!! Must remember what I need sometimes or school will slowly take over my world!

    Anyway any sympathy greatly appreciated!

    x :p x

  • The First Week Is OVER!

well the kids started back on wednesday and I met my lovely new year 7 form group, they were so scared! AWW bless them (not sure if I will be saying that in a few weeks!) Things have gone quite well, and my lessons have been quite fun! I did nearly loose the will to live when one of my new GCSE students asked me what I meant by competition when I was explaining about compositions! He really doesn't have a clue and I have to get him through the next to years!!! Now that REALLY scares me! lol!

  • I am still alive!

Well I have survived the last two INSET days without dying of complete boredom! In fact some of it was quite useful I guess, information overload though. I think the SMT forget that we are not robots and cannot take in copious amounts of detail and paperwork in the space of two days!!!
The kiddies are back tomorrow and I will be there bright and early to welcome my new Year 7 form group! I think I will be more nervous than they are so will have to keep my fingers crossed for that one. Then am teaching two lessons which should be ok considering that I have planned nothing what so ever!!!! Must make a note to myself to actually do some sort of planning over the weekend and pray that the teachers planner I ordered actually arrives!!!

Oh well going to drink at least a bottle of red wine and think about getting the iron out ready for tomorrow!

    Bye for now xxx

  • Its the final countdown!!!

Its now Thursday and I start my new job as an NQT music teacher on Monday!! Two inset days! What a thrill that will be, everyone staring at you thinking, who is that! I have just started that blind panic period before school starts, realising that I have done sod all work or prep over the summer or anything else for that matter!
I spoke to one of my old school teachers the other day, now friend who gave me some precious words of wisdom including her calling me a T.W.A.T ( TEACHER WITHOUT ACRONYM TRAINING!) For any NQT's who might be unfortunate to come across this blog, thought that was somewhat amusing!! :)
Anyway I intend to keep this blog thing going throughout the next year reporting about my crazy life as an NQT!

For all those NQT's out there about to start their new jobs, GOOD LUCK and don't let the BUGGERS get you down. (includes the SMT!)

Better go and so some work!........................................................NOT!!!!!!!!
